State-of-the-art review of the seismic performance of precast segmental columns

Abstract Prefabricated construction is attracting increasing interest in recent years, since this method has various advantages as compared to the cast-in-situ method, such less time, higher quality control and reduced environmental impact. As a typical type of prefabricated structures, precast segmental column (PSC) been used substructure accelerate speed bridges. This paper reviews performances PSCs under seismic loadings. In particular, PSC itself cyclic loading real earthquake ground motions, behaviours PSC-supported bridge responses rocking (PRC)-supported bridges, are comprehensively reviewed their pros cons discussed. For completeness paper, multiple dynamic hazards, namely impact blast loadings here also briefly summarized at end paper.
